Julie Cohen’s goal is to help you enjoy your home’s function - and beauty! - to its fullest. If you’d like to update your existing spaces, Julie can help you prioritize the areas that will help you get the “most bang for the buck” - whether that is changing your kitchen countertops, re-tiling a bathroom, adding a warm glow with new lighting, or purchasing new furnishings. After learning about your preferences, needs, and goals, Julie can save you the time and energy of searching for items; she can shop and bring samples to you. If you enjoy the process, Julie is happy to accompany clients to showrooms and advise and discuss the various options. Julie tailors her work to the needs and desires of each client.

Renovate or Remodel

If you current space isn’t meeting your needs, Julie can help you decide whether to invest in a remodel. Often Julie’s clients find it helpful to view a 3D computer model of their space to visualize changes. Julie will take detailed measurements, build a computer model, and then show you how various modifications - perhaps adding an island in the kitchen or re-configuring a fireplace area - will make an impact on your home. If the project ultimately requires moving walls or plumbing, Cohen Creative Design works with the architect and/or contractor of your choice to execute the design elements. Julie has worked with many contractors and tradespeople and can make introductions if requested.

Julie brings value by helping clients find quality and style without breaking the bank. With numerous resources for tile, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, flooring and more, Julie is focused on keeping your expenses under control without sacrificing creativity - and the results are spectacular!

While her own personal style skews toward modern, Julie has worked with clients with wide ranging styles. Julie’s overarching goal is for each individual client to love the way their home feels and functions.

Julie can help with projects of any size - whether you’d like help with furnishings and space planning; you’d like to update your kitchen, fireplace or bathrooms; or you are tackling a total remodel.

Julie chooses to work with a small number of clients at any given time, in order to devote the highest level of attention, service and creative energy to your project.

The end goal of Cohen Creative Design is for you to love your space, feel joy in your home, and do it all within your budget!

Julie has been passionate about design for decades. She is a member of the Certified Interior Decorator International professional association and is an active part of the Boulder design community.

Julie’s personal residence was one of 5 homes selected for the October 2018 Boulder Modern Home Tour, organized by the International Modern Architecture + Design Society. Her interiors have been featured in the 2011 Remodeling and Makeover Magazine and one of her kitchen projects was selected for Boulder’s 2009 Kitchens on Fire Tour, a fundraising event for the Dairy Center for the Arts.
